Artificial intelligence (AI) is influencing how we live together, learn, and work. Headlines speculate about disappearing jobs, students wonder whether their studies still have a future, and employers are searching for ways to keep up in a rapidly changing labor market.

At the same time, governments are considering how AI can be designed and implemented responsibly, with transparent decision-making, clear ownership, and well-structured governance as the foundation for trust. How do we prepare students, organizations, and our region for this future?

During the fourth edition of Smart & Social Fest, the following question takes center stage: A responsible future with AI — how?

As an educational and knowledge institution, Hogeschool Rotterdam sees it as its responsibility to raise, deepen, and nuance this issue. Responsible use of AI requires more than technological innovation alone. It calls for conscious decisions about how and why we use AI — and where we draw the line.

On Thursday, April 23, Hogeschool Rotterdam will share how it is working together with practice partners to build a responsible future with AI. Will you help build it too?

Program

It promises to be a day of collective exploration into what AI truly means for our work, our education, our daily lives, and the region. Not from a perspective of hype or doomsday scenarios, but grounded in nuance, scientific insight, and real-world experience.

The day offers a diverse program, including expert talks, practical examples, demos, shared experiences, new encounters, and even a touch of humor. Expand your knowledge, broaden your perspective, and leave with concrete tools to help build a responsible future with AI.
